After 12th, many students take admission in 5-year integrated law courses, but the fees of most colleges are very high. However, there are some colleges that offer this course at a much lower fee.

If you want to become a lawyer, you have two options. The first option is to take admission in an integrated law course after 12th. This course saves you one year, as in five years you can complete both your graduation and law degree. The second option is to first complete a three-year graduation and then pursue a three-year Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) course. This will take a total of six years. There are some differences between both courses, based on which you can decide which one is better for you.

The five-year law course is relatively new. It combines graduation subjects with the law curriculum. The biggest advantage of this course is that you save a year and obtain a law degree in just five years. The three-year law course is the traditional one, where you must graduate first before enrolling. This means it takes a total of six years to become a law graduate. While the law curriculum is almost the same in both courses, there is a huge difference in the fee structure. The five-year law course costs around ₹1 lakh in most institutions, while the three-year course starts from as low as ₹10,000. However, there are some institutions in the country that offer the five-year law course at a much lower fee.

LLB Studies at Affordable Fees

If you also want to pursue law after 12th at a lower cost, then you have limited options. In most colleges across the country, the fee for a 5-year integrated law course is around ₹1 lakh. Because of this, many students prefer to complete a three-year graduation first and then take admission in the three-year LLB course, which is comparatively cheaper. However, there are a few colleges where you can pursue a 5-year law degree at a relatively lower fee.
