Mehr Chand Mahajan College Sector 36 Chandigarh was established in 1968 in the memory of late Sri Mehr Chand Mahajan who was the 3rd chief justice of India and a member of the Kashmir (not sure about this) partition committee.
Dr. Nisha Bhargava is the current principal of the college. Our college offers a variety of courses including mass communication, medical sciences, arts, commerce and other various research streams. For commerce our college has three classrooms with an appropriate and adjustable strength of students who get admissions on certain criteria (merit).
The humanity stream of the college is the most illustrious of all. Our college also offers students specialisation in particular subjects as per students interests. A number of students pursue honours in specific subjects every year to inculcate more information about the subject and study it more deeply.
The most celebrated part of the college is the cafeteria and the library which has an enormous number of books helping students in day to day classes. The cafeteria provides students with a large variety of sustenance and eatables.
Being a girls college or college also have a salon as well as a General Store equipped with every material necessary for girls including jewellery, decoratives, toiletries and other girls stuff.
Admission in the college is totally on the basis of 12th grade marks. Students securing eligible marks for specific streams can apply for the admission process. Our college has two ways of getting admission first is the direct form at the MCM website and other is through the DHE the central website
