About CDOE

The Centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, previously known as the University School of Open Learning (USOL), began its journey in 1971 as the Directorate of Correspondence Courses. Its mission is to provide quality higher education to those unable to attend university in person. With 53 years of experience, CDOE has become one of India’s leading institutes for distance education. It offers a variety of programs, including traditional undergraduate and postgraduate courses, professional programs, and skill-based diploma and certificate courses. The degrees from CDOE are recognized by the UGC’s Distance Education Bureau and are equivalent to those offered by regular university departments.

Steps to Apply

  1. Select the Programme: Choose your desired UG/PG course and fill out the complete Admission-cum-Examination Form.
  2. Submit the Form: Note down your Login ID and Password.
  3. Login Again: Use your username and password to log in at CDOE Admissions Portal.
  4. Pay the Fee: You can pay the fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or any branch of the Post Office in India by generating a Post Office Fee Challan.
  • Important Note: Preferably use Post Office Challan/Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card. Other modes may delay or fail fee confirmation, for which CDOE is not responsible.
  1. Confirm Fee: If the fee is paid but not confirmed, click on the “Confirm My Fee” link and then continue.
  2. Complete the Process: Upload your scanned photograph and signature.
  3. Print the Form: Take a printout of the complete Admission-cum-Examination form.
  4. Document Verification: An appointment letter will be generated. You must visit CDOE on the given date with the printout of the form and original documents for verification. If unable to visit, send the form printout and supporting documents to:
