The Central University of Punjab, located in Bathinda, was founded in 2009 through an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). The registration for GPAT 2025, necessary for MPharma admissions, is currently open, with the deadline set for April 21, 2025. The GPAT 2025 examination is scheduled for May 25, 2025.
Results for CUET PG 2025, which will determine admissions to postgraduate courses, are anticipated to be released by the third week of April 2025.
The CUET UG 2025 exam, aimed at undergraduate admissions, is tentatively planned to take place between May 8 and June 1, 2025.

Undergraduate Programs

CUP provides several undergraduate courses, including:

  • B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering: A 4-year program with specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security. Admission is based on CUET 2025 scores and academic merit.
  • B.Sc in Physics and Chemistry: 3-year programs focusing on core scientific principles. Eligibility requires a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • B.A. in Economics and Psychology: 3-year programs emphasizing analytical and behavioral sciences. Admission is through CUET 2025.

Admission Process

Admissions to undergraduate programs are primarily through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). For postgraduate programs, admissions are based on CUET PG scores, with some courses also considering GATE scores.

Placements

CUP has a dedicated placement cell that facilitates internships and job placements for students. The university has collaborations with various industries, enhancing employment opportunities for graduates.

Cutoff

The cutoff for CUET PG 2024 varied by program. For instance, the MA Psychology program had a cutoff of 244 in Round 1, which decreased to 97 in Round 2. Similarly, the MA Sociology program had a Round 1 cutoff of 179, which decreased to 58 in Round 2.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

CUP offers fellowships for M.Phil and Ph.D. students:

  • M.Phil: ₹5,000 per month.
  • Ph.D.: ₹8,000 per month.

Additionally, the university provides contingency grants for research expenses:

  • Humanities: ₹8,000 per annum.
  • Science: ₹10,000 per annum.
